Bed Edmonson

The Romulus Board of Education last night voted to enter into contract negotiations with Dr. Benjamin Edmondson as our New Superintendent of Romulus Community Schools.

This decision was made after a thorough search process which was facilitated by MASB and included weeks of surveys, community feedback, and countless interviews.

Dr. Edmondson is the former Superintendent of Ypsilanti Community Schools and has an impressive record of establishing community partnerships, raising academic standards and achievement, and increasing enrollment in declining districts.

Mr. Martell states,

Dr. Edmondson has presented an extensive 100-Day plan. I believe he is going to be a great fit for our district and I look forward to working with him to Realign, Reshape, and Reimagine, Romulus Community Schools.

The Romulus Board of Education is beginning the process of hiring a new superintendent. The board is soliciting community and staff input on the qualities, experiences, and skills needed in the new superintendent. Residents of the district, all staff and administration are encouraged to participate in the process.

The board is being assisted in its search by the Michigan Association of School Boards (MASB), a service organization that supports the work of school boards throughout Michigan. Jay Bennett is facilitating the search on behalf of MASB.
