Students participated in some classroom work to learn about watersheds and the water cycle. After the classroom work we headed outside to perform some experiments. Student collected samples from a stream and looked for organisms and tested the chemical makeup of the water. The students determined it was a healthy ecosystem since they found plant and animal life and the water was oxygenated. After the experiments we were able to walk around the greenhouses and gardens for the remainder of the day. Some of the highlights were finding frogs and crayfish in the stream, finding pineapples in the greenhouse, and the bonsai garden.
